Our Schools Are A Big Part Of The New Canaan Community
There are many reasons to live in New Canaan, and one of the most important for many new residents to our town is the quality of our schools.
Whether it’s our public school system or the private schools in the community, parents are able to send their children to top-rated schools that traditionally rank among the best in the state of Connecticut, as well as the nation.
The town’s public school system is one of the state’s best. The three elementary schools (East School, South School and West School), one middle school (Saxe), and one high school (New Canaan) all earn high marks for test scores and overall academic achievement. In the most recent U.S. News & World Report ranking of the top high schools in Connecticut, New Canaan High ranked fifth in the state and among the top 300 high schools in the country.
The community’s three private schools also receive excellent marks for academic achievement. St. Aloysius School is kindergarten through 8th grade, St. Luke’s School is 5th grade through 12th grade, and New Canaan Country School is preschool through 9th grade.
And residents with children who aren’t yet school-age can select from at least a dozen preschool programs that are recognized by the town of New Canaan. Parents take the education of their children seriously and so do we.
