The Town Players of New Canaan will begin its 77th season on Saturday, August 26 with the musical The Fantasticks kicking off the troupe’s 2023-2024 schedule.
The Fantasticks, a charming romantic comedy about two fathers who pretend to feud to trick their children into falling in love, will be at the Powerhouse Theatre in Waveny Park for a nine-show run from August 26 through September 10.
Produced by Peggi De La Cruz and Maryann Ramos, The Fantasticks will open the season with an 8 p.m. show on August 26, followed by a matinee performance on Sunday, August 27 at 2 p.m. The rest of the schedule is Friday, September 1, 8 p.m.; Saturday, September 2, 8 p.m.; Monday, September 4, 2 p.m.; Thursday, September 7, 8 p.m.; Friday, September 8, 8 p.m.; Saturday, September 9, 8 p.m.; Sunday, September 10, 2 p.m.

Five other shows will be performed by The Town Players of New Canaan during the season. The musical The Toxic Avenger is scheduled for October 13-28; A Christmas Story from December 1-17; Puffs from February 23 to March 10; Alice’s Adventures from April 26 to May 12; and Eurydice from June 7-23.
