Strong Bonds Build A Helpful, Caring Community

Go anywhere in New Canaan and you can feel the sense of community from our residents. Our town is full of people who are proud of the community and willing to help their neighbors in times of need.

It’s been that way for years. We’re a small town where residents pitch in to help each other, volunteer for community activities and support efforts to make our community a more welcoming place for new residents and people who visit.

Take a stroll through the downtown area, have a great meal, a glass of wine, or shop at any of the unique and one-of-a-kind gift shops and boutiques. Many of our restaurants, salons, stores, and specialty shops are within walking distance for many who live nearby.

If you enjoy nature and the outdoors, take a ride to Waveny Park, Irwin Park, the New Canaan Nature Center, Grace Farms or the Bristow Bird Sanctuary and Wildwood Preserve. All are within the town limits and offer fun for the entire family.

Holidays are always a special time in New Canaan. Annual events include an Easter Egg Hunt, the Family Fourth Picnic and Fireworks in July, the All Hallows Eve Parade in October, and the Holiday Stroll and carolling on God’s Acre in December. These events and many others bring our community together for fellowship and fun.

Come to New Canaan and see why we love our town so much!
