Once the holidays are over, New Canaan has a great way for residents to have their trees recycled and used as mulch on the trails at the New Canaan Nature Center.

Beginning Saturday, December 30, residents can participate in Planet New Canaan’s TreeCycle Program. Bring trees that have been stripped of lights, decorations, and tinsel to the parking lot of the Steve Benko Pool in Waveny Park. Trees can be dropped off for FREE from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Monday, January 8. No wreaths or garland will be accepted.

Residents who participate in the program will keep their trees out of local landfills and the trees will eventually be collected, mulched, and spread on the Nature Center’s walking trails.

Have a great holiday season!
