It’s time to relive the Christmas Eve adventures of Clara, her Prince, and their travels to the Land of the Sweets.
The Nutcracker Ballet returns to New Canaan this weekend (December 10-12) with four performances at New Canaan High School. The showtimes are:
- Friday at 7 p.m.
- Saturday at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Sunday at 2 p.m.
Student dancers from the New England Academy of Dance and the New England Dance Theatre will be featured as well as some professional guest artists from New York City.
The cast is well represented by ballerinas from many areas of Fairfield County and Westchester County. Dancers from New Canaan, Darien, Wilton, Stamford, Norwalk, Bedford, Pound Ridge, and other local towns will be on stage as Clara is entertained by dancing snowflakes, flowers, candy canes, Arabian coffee, and Spanish chocolates.
The Norwalk Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Jonathan Yates will perform Tchaikovsky’s enchanting compositions and the performances are choreographed by Ted Thomas, Frances Ortiz, and Ginna Ortiz.
