New Canaan’s first Downtown Arts Festival this Saturday

If you appreciate art, then you won’t want to miss New Canaan’s downtown Arts Festival on Saturday, June 4.

There will be art to view and a variety of events and activities for children, teens, and adults beginning at 10 a.m. at the corner of Elm Street and South Avenue. The event, which is being hosted by the Carriage Barn Art Center, continues until 4 p.m. All events are free.

If you appreciate art, the Art in the Windows storefront exhibition can be viewed in the windows of many downtown businesses and there will be a chalk art challenge.

Here are the other scheduled art activities:

  • Kids crafts and complimentary lemonade, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Glass art demonstration with Derek Freres, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Custom sneaker and flip flop spray painting at TONK gallery, 10:30 a.m. to noon.
  • Kids art and story time with New Canaan Public Library, 12:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Art and wine tasting at Craftbottlz, Franco’s, and Stewart’s Spirits, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • cARTie CT’s nonprofit mobile art museum, 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Here are other scheduled events:

  • Mr. Bungles Bubbles & Comedy Show, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Gelatissimo gelato cart, noon to 4 p.m.

These bands will be providing live music:

  • School of Rock, 10:30 a.m. to noon.
  • Acoustic Quarantine, 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • New Canaan Music Band, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
