Get ready for the holidays with a 5-kilometer run or a 1-mile walk at Waveny Park in New Canaan!
The 9th annual New Canaan Santa Run is scheduled for Saturday, December 17 beginning at 8:30 a.m. In addition to the 5k run and 1-mile walk, there will also be a Santa Dash for children 8 years old and younger.
The Santa Run benefits the Steve Benko Endowed Scholarship and Filling in the Blanks, a nonprofit that helps relieve childhood hunger in Fairfield County by providing meals to needy families on weekends.
The event begins with the Santa Dash at 8:30 a.m., followed by the start of the 5k run at 9 a.m. The 1-mile walk will begin right after 5k runners have started their race. The 5k course starts at New Canaan High School and continues through Waveny Park before finishing back at the high school.
Entry fee for the 5k run and the 1-mile walk is $25. The race entry fee is $30. The Santa Dash is free. Click here to register. The first 150 people to register will receive a free T-shirt.
