The No. 1s keep coming for the New Canaan Public School District.
For the second consecutive year, the district was ranked as the top public school district in Connecticut by Niche, an online platform that connects students and families with schools and colleges.
The district was also judged to be the best in two other categories by Niche, including the best district in which to teach, and the district with the best overall teachers. The district received a No. 2 ranking in the safest school district category and was judged to be the ninth-best district for aspiring athletes.
Schools in the district also excelled. New Canaan High School was ranked No. 2, finishing behind Staples High in Westport but just ahead of rival Darien High, which came in at No. 3.
Saxe Middle School was ranked as the top middle school, while South School (No. 2), East School (No. 3), and West School (No. 6) all received A+ grades in the elementary rankings.
