New Canaan Nature Centers 2021 Great Hunt Spring Celebration

Holiday celebrations will continue to be limited by health concerns this week, but that won’t stop hundreds of New Canaan children from participating in the New Canaan Nature Center’s 2021 Great Hunt & Spring Celebration.

Every spot for this year’s event, which starts on Thursday, April 1st and ends on Saturday, April 3rd, has been sold. Beginning Thursday shortly after noon, children ages 2 through 10 will hunt for eggs, enjoy an animal meet and greet, and participate in self-guided spring scavenger hunts.

All children have to do is bring a basket and a face covering if they are older than 2. Kids will be encouraged to social distance when they aren’t hunting for eggs but that may be difficult with all the excitement.

There are four 45-minute egg hunts on Thursday, the first starting at 12:15 p.m. There will be 6 hunts on Friday (9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:45 p.m., 1:45 p.m., and 2:45 p.m.) and 6 more on Saturday (the same times as Friday). All eggs will be filled with nature-themed prizes or nut-free sweets.

Even if you weren’t able to reserve a spot in one of the egg hunts, there’s still plenty to do at the Nature Center.

Come out and enjoy the weekend!
