Here’s how you can celebrate Harry Potter’s birthday with your friends in New Canaan.
This Sunday (July 31), the New Canaan Library will host two Harry Potter birthday celebrations in Kiwanis Park.
The first celebration is for children in kindergarten through the 5th grade and is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon. The second celebration begins at noon and continues until 2 p.m. and is for children in grades 6 through 12.
Harry Potter is the fictional protagonist in seven best-selling books. In the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Harry is celebrating his 11th birthday when he learns he is a wizard and will be attending the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Children who plan on attending a celebration must register. If you will be attending the event for grades K through 5, register here. If you plan on attending the event for grades 6 through 12, register here.
Come in costume and be sure to bring a swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen so you can enjoy the lake and beach. We’ll see you on Sunday!
