The New Canaan Nature Center will be turned into a Winter Wonderland on Saturday even though the weather will feel more like spring.

Starting Saturday at 11 a.m., the Nature Center will feature fun and exciting outdoor winter activities for visitors of all ages. The event ends at 2 p.m.

Here’s what children and their parents can expect:

  • Socially distanced visits and photos with Santa;
  • Horse-drawn wagon rides for $5 a person;
  • A giant model train that will chug through the town of New Canaan;
  • A roaring campfire for marshmallow roasting;
  • Holiday crafts for the kids;
  • Reindeer Games: toss a ring on the antlers of a reindeer, feed the snowman, and more;
  • Wacky Winterland scavenger hunt;
  • Red & Green Cafe where grilled cheese, hot dogs, and hot beverages (cocoa and coffee) will be available for purchase.

There’s currently a chance of rain on Saturday, but the temperature is forecast to be in the 60s. Arrive early because the event is sold out.
