The Lapham Center in New Canaan offers monthly Medicare counseling for seniors who have questions regarding enrollment or benefits.
This month’s session is scheduled for Thursday, August 11. Appointments can be made to talk to certified Medicare counselor Dick Neville by calling the Lapham Center at (203) 594.3620.
Medicare is the federal government’s health insurance program for people age 65 and older and for younger people who receive Social Security disability benefits. Medicare helps people with the cost of their health care but does not cover all medical expenses or the cost of most long-term care.
Many people find enrolling in Medicare to be a confusing and complicated task, which is why the Lapham Center provides counseling sessions. People who are approaching their 65th birthday and miss their enrollment deadline can face lifetime penalties or go without health coverage for an extended period.
If you are confused about how to enroll in Medicare or have questions about which benefit plans you should select, you should schedule a counseling session immediately.
