New data released by New Canaan Public Schools shows that 9.2% of New Canaan High School students were born outside of the U.S. These students represent a growing international population in town, driven in part by corporate relocations and the high quality of life enjoyed by residents. Across the district, a total of 364 students are foreign born, hailing from countries such as Brazil, Columbia, France, India and Mexico, among others. To help families acclimate to New Canaan, the community offers both the New Canaan Newcomers Club and New Canaan International Ladies Group, both of which host events to help new residents meet their neighbors.
