DESCRIPTION:New Canaan\, CT— Jean Jacobs Gallery is pleased to hold Hans Neleman’s Artist Talk\, in conversation with Arianne Kolb on Wednesday November 9\, from 6-7:30pm; we would love it if you could join us. Refreshments provided by Cava. \nAbout Arianne Kolb PhD\nArianne Faber Kolb\, an independent curator and art historian\, was a curator in the Getty Museum’s Paintings and Drawings Departments\, a researcher in the Paintings Department of the Metropolitan Museum of Art\, and the Executive Co-Director of the Carriage Barn Arts Center. She has curated numerous exhibitions and her published work includes a book on Jan Brueghel the Elder\, articles on old master painting\, exhibition catalogues of contemporary Cuban art\, and two children’s books on New Canaan architecture and history. She is currently curating a private collection of contemporary Cuban art and commissioning outdoor sculptures for various sites\, including Waveny Park. \nAbout Hans Neleman\nHans Neleman is a Dutch-born American interdisciplinary artist who studied art at Goldsmiths’ in London and received a Master’s degree from New York University. His career as an international photographer and director spans 30 years. He taught as adjunct professor at New York University\, the School of Visual Arts and the International Center of Photography and published three books. His work is in many private and public collections including: the National Gallery of Australia\, the Museum of Contemporary Art Lyon\, France\, and the Peabody Museum\, MA. Awards include Kodak Photographer of the Year\, World Image Award for Still Life and the Hasselblad Master title.
