SUMMARY:Spectrum Contemporary Art Show at the Carriage Barn
DESCRIPTION: \nSpectrum is a juried exhibition of original\, contemporary artwork by local and regional artists. The juror Sam Wilson\, a founding director of Klaus von Nichtssagend Gallery\, reviewed original works in all media that celebrate and explore the connection between Art & Music.\nFor centuries\, artists and musicians have inspired each other through their creative expression. Significant artistic movements such as Impressionism and Abstract Expressionism evolved out of the visual interpretation of rhythm and sounds. Both art and music share the power to evoke and inspire emotions\, tell stories\, and communicate ideas.

SUMMARY:CarFIT Program Hosted by Waveny LifeCare Network
DESCRIPTION:Waveny is pleased to host CarFIT\, a free\, interactive and educational program designed to improve older driver safety. Many driver safety programs improve adult driver safety by addressing cognitive abilities and skills\, however\, older drivers can also improve their safety by ensuring their cars are properly adjusted for them.\nA team of trained CarFIT technicians will be at The Inn\, Waveny’s independent living community at 73 Oenoke Ridge\, to work with each participant to ensure they “fit” their vehicle properly for maximum comfort and safety. A CarFIT check takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.\nCarFIT was created in 2006 in collaboration with AAA (American Automobile Association)\, AARP and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and is designed to help older drivers find out how well they currently fit their personal vehicle\, to highlight actions they can take to improve their fit\, and to promote conversations about driver safety and community mobility. A proper fit in one’s personal vehicle can greatly increase not only the driver’s safety but also the safety of others!\nFor more information or to pre-book a time slot\, please email events@waveny.org. This event is free and open to the public.
