SUMMARY:Healthcare Pathfinder Presents: Medicare Enrollment Done Right (Part 3 of 3)
DESCRIPTION:Healthcare Pathfinder is conducting a three-part series to assist people who are turning 65. The class will guide them through the complex and confusing Medicare enrollment process. The professional advisors of Healthcare Pathfinder\, Anne McGuire and Victoria Bieler\, have developed a series to help people understand Medicare and avoid costly mistakes. \n“A lot of people may have heard of Medicare Part A\, B\, C\, D and Supplement Plans J\,F\, G and N\, but have no idea what they mean. We are advocates and advisors\, not sales people! Our goal is to demystify Medicare\, facilitate the enrollment process\, and create peace of mind.” \nThe three-part series meets once a month for 2 hours. HealthCare Pathfinder staff will work with attendees to research and compare all coverage options\, select the best personalized plan(s)\, and complete enrollment. “We are looking forward to celebrating Medicare enrollments and 65th birthdays at the end of each series”\, remarks Victoria Bieler. \nClasses are being held at HAYVN (320 Post Road Darien CT). \nClass size is limited\, so early registration is advised. This weekend-long educational experience invites music ensembles from across the country to sing and play in Disney performance halls\, receive a clinic from a collegiate conductor\, and participate in activities alongside hundreds of other student musicians. \nIn order to allow every student in our program the opportunity to participate\, we have partnered with local restaurants to raise funds for our performers\, as well as bring business to their establishments. There are three nights – one per week – where you can Dine Out to Donate! Enjoy an NCHS student staple (Chipotle) and two NC Family-owned restaurants – newly opened (Taco Tequila Cantina) and a cornerstone of our town (Gates). Scan the QR code on the flyer to check out the details for each restaurant night!

SUMMARY:Cocktails for a Cure – A Benefit for Pancreatic Cancer Research
DESCRIPTION:Cocktails for a Cure\, a special fundraiser for the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research\, will be held at the Carriage Barn Arts Center on Friday\, November 11th. The evening will include great food and drinks\, a silent auction\, research news\, loving tributes\, and inspirational survivor stories. Along with music\, there will be entertainment by comedian John Ziegler who is also a survivor! \nThe event is co-hosted by longtime New Canaan resident Anne Hamilton\, whose husband Neil was diagnosed with stage 3 advanced inoperable pancreatic cancer in 2017\, but is now celebrating his fourth year in remission. “Pancreatic cancer has touched so many in our community\, we want everyone diagnosed with this hideous disease to have the best possible outcome.” The Lustgarten Foundation is the largest private funder of pancreatic cancer research. Their mission is to transform pancreatic cancer into a curable disease. \nTickets are now available\, as are numerous sponsorship opportunities for local businesses. No donation is too small for this worthy cause. 100% of all ticket sales and donations fund research.
