Professional pianist Steven Solomon has been performing at well-known national venues for more than 20 years and is ready to delight New Canaan Library’s audience once again – this time with Christmas and Chanukah songs that can be requested at the time of registration. An accomplished pianist\, recording artist\, and singer-songwriter\, Solomon draws from all genres and styles of music\, and performs a wide repertoire of selections\, with a special interest in honoring requests from the audience.\nSteven Solomon has been performing professionally since age ten. He’s performed over 2\,500 times\, including his debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City at age 20. Steven is originally from Chicago and has been living in LA for the past 5 years. He performs both nationally and worldwide.\nIn addition to performing at such large venues as Disneyland\, the Liberace Museum in Las Vegas and the Chicago Jazz Festival\, among others\, Steven performs on a regular basis at events for top corporations\, celebrities\, and select individuals in Los Angeles\, Chicago\, and across the nation at live special events\, and during these challenging Covid-19 times\, Steven performs for clients and organizations worldwide\, live\, virtually online.\nSteven formally studied both classical and jazz piano for 18 years\, from age 4 through college. He graduated from the School of Music at Western Illinois University\, Summa Cum Laude\, with a Baccalaureate Degree in Music Education.

DESCRIPTION:Caroling Returns to God’s Acre on Christmas Eve! \nAfter a year off due to the pandemic The God’s Acre Christmas Carol Committee is happy to\nannounce that The Annual Carol Sing on God’s Acre will return in person this year at 6:30 p.m.\non Christmas Eve\, Friday December 24 at the top of God’s Acre. The annual community\ntradition was begun over 100 years ago. If you are new to town\, make plans to include this\nquintessential community event in your Christmas Eve activities! \nThe bandstand will be constructed by a local contractor and the New Canaan Beautification\nLeague has volunteered to decorate it with wreathes\, greens and bows. The New Canaan Town\nBand will play eight classic Christmas carols while hundreds of families\, individuals and friends\nfrom the community will gather for the sing along. \nSong sheets will available and distributed at the Carol Sing courtesy of Rand Insurance.
