This virtual roundtable is a partnership between New Canaan Library\, Bronxville Public Library\, Fairfield Public Library\, and the Rye Free Reading Room. \nJulia Strayer\, CRPC®\, CIMA®\, CPWA® is a Senior Vice President\, Wealth Management Advisor at Merrill Lynch. Prior to her move to Merrill Lynch in 2000\, Julia was Vice President\, Private Banker for BankBoston’s Private Bank for 7 years\, responsible for asset management and trust services. Previously\, Julia worked in marketing for 9 years with Merrill Lynch. Julia has a BA from Ohio State University and an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business. Julia has appeared on the CNBC show “Power Lunch\,” CBS “This Morning\,” WGCH’s “Women in Business\,” in addition to featured articles in USA Today. \nLiz Maccarone\, CRPC® is a Financial Analyst. She joined Merrill Lynch in 2012 and is a graduate of Fairfield University. She coordinates and monitors investment strategies and planning services for clients.

DESCRIPTION:For those who’ve considered learning how to make their own wine\, cider or mead\, but didn’t know where to begin\, New Canaan Library offers the solution from local resident and winemaking hobbyist John Kriz. The webinar will be presented on Wednesday\, August 19 at 6:30pm EST. Please register at newcanaanlibrary.org for Zoom sign in information.\nAn information packet will be provided upon registration to allow attendees to follow along with John’s presentation notes and take notes of their own.\nIn his webinar discussion\, John Kriz brings viewers into his own kitchen – where the winemaking magic happens – and explains how\, with the right equipment\, home winemaking (as well as cider and mead) can be inexpensive and easy. The program will provide an overview of the kind of equipment needed\, some key vocabulary\, websites and books to help deepen one’s wine-making knowledge\, and the important steps involved in beginner winemaking.\nLong-time New Canaan resident John J Kriz is an award-winning home winemaker and has been making wine for over a decade. He is also a beekeeper and candlemaker.
