DESCRIPTION:WELCOME TO THE 3RD ANNUAL POPS IN THE PARK concert in Waveny Park\, New Canaan\, featuring the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra! The New Canaan Pops in the Park Committee is pleased to share a beautiful evening of orchestral music with all of you — our very special guests. This year\, we’re excited to feature “Broadway Lights!” as our theme for the evening\, with an emphasis on music featured in popular Broadway shows such as Annie\, West Side Story\, Guys and Dolls\, and Phantom of the Opera. We’re also thrilled to have the vocals of Mia Gentile\, who has performed with the Symphony as Carrie in “Carousel” and Marian in “The Music Man.” Inspired by the Boston Pops concerts on Cape Cod and Nantucket and the NY Philharmonic’s summer concerts in Central Park\, this family-friendly evening is one that is sure to delight audiences of all ages. Please join us on Waveny Great Lawn with your blankets and picnic baskets for a summer evening of lively Broadway music!\nTickets are free\, though we encourage a $5 per person donation to help support our concert. Concertgoers must reserve tickets through Eventbrite as we are limited to 1800 attendees. Your donations will support this year’s concert and our annual Pops concerts going forward!

DESCRIPTION:S.T.A.R’s 3rd annual Juneteenth Community Celebration is fast approaching and we cannot wait to see everyone!\nThis free-to-attend celebration will once again take place on the lawn at The New Canaan Museum & Historical Society at 13 Oenoke Ridge\, New Canaan. We’ll start at 3pm and end at 7pm. There will be live music from local band\, The Misfits\, arts and crafts and more! Visit S.T.A.R’s website for more information.\nBring a picnic or buy delicious soul food from one of several local food trucks.\nWalk ins are welcome\, but we kindly ask that you register in advance so we have enough supplies.
