Seçkin Pirim: Form. Color. Pattern
October 2, 2021 @ 10:30 am - October 3, 2021 @ 5:30 pm
Heather Gaudio Fine Art PROJECTS is delighted to present “Seçkin Pirim: Form. Color. Pattern,” the third exhibition at the gallery’s alternative space. The show is presented in collaboration with C24 Gallery in New York City and will run from October 2nd through November 13th.
Living and working in Istanbul, Pirim creates sculptures in a wide range of media, such as paper, board, or industrial materials the likes of liquid iron or plexiglass with automobile paint. He combines computer generated imagery with manual construction, thereby blending the precision of modern technology with the art of the handcrafted. Pirim’s striking objects explore form, color, and pattern, which at times blur the line between art and design. Examining the relationship between object and space and the tensions between nature and culture, his works have a foothold in Minimalism, Constructivism and Futurism. The sculptures stop short of being fully categorized, however, for Pirim’s works have a unique aesthetic. They are visual illusions of the familiar or even the unseen: sound waves, sonic booms, patterns seen in nature, all repetitive forms that create a whole structure. Pirim has exhibited widely around the world, and has been the recipient of numerous awards. His sculptures are in many prominent private collections in Europe and the United States.
Heather Gaudio Fine Art PROJECTS, is a new venue designed to display artworks outside the scope of the gallery’s program. Through collaborations with artists, private dealers, and galleries in New York City and beyond, PROJECTS exhibits blue-chip, contemporary masters and site-specific installations. The aim is to diversify the art landscape and conversation, presenting collectors and the community with alternative engaging experiences and acquisition opportunities.
