“Photojournalism: Still Images of a World in Motion,” Presented by Photographer Claire Thomas via New Canaan Library Webinar

New Canaan Library is pleased to welcome photojournalist and fine art photographer Claire Thomas, who will present the talk “Photojournalism: Still Images of a World in Motion.” The live webinar will take place on Thursday, May 19 at 7 PM EST. As a photojournalist and fine art photographer, Claire Thomas makes the world her home as she travels the globe documenting international cultures as well as conflicts. With a perspective informed by her university focus in politics and a keen eye for the art of photography, she trains her camera on issues surrounding political and military conflicts, human rights, and humanitarian and environmental crises. From the Middle East and Africa to Europe, Claire has covered a range of stories in various countries, contributing images and photo essays to leading newspapers, magazines and news agencies worldwide.
Claire Thomas is a photojournalist and fine art photographer from Wales, currently based between the UK and New York City. A graduate in Politics from the University of the West of England, her photojournalism work is focused on issues surrounding political and military conflicts, human rights, and humanitarian and environmental crises. From within the camps that emerged from the refugee crisis in Europe to the frontlines in the battle against ISIS in Iraq, Claire has covered a wide range of stories in various countries, contributing images and photo essays to leading media worldwide.
