Trumpet extraordinaire Jeroen Berwaerts and crowd favorite cellist Raphael Bell both joining us from Belgium; nine string players and piano; a Baroque concerto for trumpet and strings, Saint-Saëns’ scintillating Septet for Trumpet, strings, and piano; the tragedy of Enescu and sumptuous romance of Strauss; all capped by the greatest piece of chamber music ever composed, Mendelssohn’s Octet for strings.
