In partnership with Planet New Canaan, New Canaan Library is pleased to present The New York Times bestselling self-help author and CBS Sunday Morning science and technology correspondent David Pogue, speaking about his latest book, How to Prepare for Climate Change: A Practical Guide to Surviving the Chaos. Mr. Pogue will speak via live webinar on Wednesday, April 7 at 7 PM EST. Zoom sign in information will be provided upon registration at newcanaanlibrary.org.
In many ways, we are already living through the beginnings of climate chaos, with soaring summer temperatures and extreme weather. In How to Prepare for Climate Change, David Pogue offers sensible, deeply researched advice for how people can ready themselves for the years ahead. Pogue will speak about many of the topics found within the book, such as what to grow and eat, how to build and insure, where to invest, how to prepare our children and pets, and even where to consider relocating when the time comes. Pogue also provides wise tips for managing our anxiety, as well as action plans for riding out every climate catastrophe, from superstorms and wildfires to ticks and epidemics. Signed copies of How to Prepare for Climate Change will be available at Elm Street Books, New Canaan.
David Pogue was The New York Times weekly tech columnist from 2000 to 2013. He is a five-time Emmy winner for his stories on “CBS News Sunday Morning,” a New York Times bestselling author, a five-time TED speaker, and host of 20 NOVA science specials on PBS. Pogue lives with his wife Nicki and their blended brood of five spectacular children in Westport, Connecticut, and San Francisco.
