Easter is a little more than a week away but the holiday festivities begin this weekend in New Canaan.
Here’s what’s happening:
49th annual Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 1, 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Waveny Park
The Young Women’s League of New Canaan will once again host this event beginning at 9 a.m. Entrance fee is $5 per family.
In addition to the Easter Egg Hunt that gets underway at 10:15 a.m., there will be bounce houses, face painting, arts and crafts, a deejay, and a photo area for pictures with the Easter Bunny. The entire family will enjoy this traditional spring celebration.
Great Egg Hunt and Spring Celebration
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, April 6-8, New Canaan Nature Center
As usual, this is an extremely popular event and all 16 sessions over the three days are already sold out.
Children ages two through 10 will go out in groups of 25 to collect as many eggs as possible. The eggs will be filled with nature-themed prizes and nut-free sweets. Youngsters will also be able to participate in an animal meet-and-greet and self-guided scavenger hunts.
For those who have tickets, don’t forget to BYOB (bring your own basket) and be ready for great fun.
