Annual Holiday Exhibit & Fundraiser from November 28 – December 11
Catch the holiday spirit in person at the Carriage Barn Art Center’s annual wreath auction and small works exhibit!
Unique, one-of-a-kind wreaths will be available to buy or bid on, along with a selection of small, original artwork priced at $250 or less.
From traditionally decorated greens to unconventional materials and themed designs, the wreaths are created and donated by local artists, designers, businesses and organizations. Wreath donors include Adirondack, New Canaan Mounted Troop, Copia, The Glass House, Bloomcraft and many more. Artwork by many celebrated local artists will include paintings, fine art photography, ceramics and mixed media works in a range of styles.
“We are excited to be preparing for our annual Deck The Walls which has become a special holiday tradition,” says Hilary Wittmann, Carriage Barn Executive Director. “This is a great opportunity to shop for something truly unique while supporting local artists and the Carriage Barn’s educational programs.”
Deck The Walls opened on Artists Sunday, a nationwide art-focused shopping day the first Sunday after Thanksgiving. Visitors had the opportunity to shop, and meet some of the featured artists at the Carriage Barn on November 28 between 1-5pm, followed by a Scout and Cellar wine tasting from 3-5pm.
The gallery will be open Tuesday-Sunday from 11am-4pm through to December 11, and admission is free.
The Carriage Barn will also host a children’s crafting session on December 1st from 2-3.30pm. ‘To go kits’ will be available for those who can’t attend the session in person.
As part of the 2021 Deck the Walls celebrations the Carriage Barn will host a festive “Deck the Walls” holiday party with live music by Bad Dog Buddy Band on Thursday, December 2 from 7-10pm.
Wreaths and artwork will also be available to buy or bid on through an online auction, bidding ends on Sunday, December 5.
