Big Week of Holiday Festivities at the Carriage Barn Arts Center

It’s a big week for holiday activities at New Canaan’s Carriage Barn Arts Center.

There will be activities for children and adults. It all starts on Tuesday (December 6). Here’s the schedule:

FESTIVE WREATH MAKING

Tuesday, December 6, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Join Jenn Cipriano of Copia Home and Garden for a fun and creative night of wreath making. Cipriano will demonstrate how to use seasonal greens and other materials to create beautiful hand-tied wreaths that can be taken home. Materials will be provided but attendees are asked to bring their own clippers.

FESTIVE WREATH MAKING

Come with family and friends, your favorite adult beverage, and some snacks and put together a holiday wreath for your home. Cost is $70 for Carriage Barn members and $85 for non-members. Space is limited. Register here.

HOLIDAY TIE DYE AND TINSEL

Wednesday, December 7, 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Here’s a great way to keep the kids engaged during parent-teacher conference week.

Tiffany McKay will host two workshops where students will make tie-dye T-shirts and participate in other holiday activities. Make sure your kids dress for a mess.The first workshop (2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.) is full but

there still is space in the second workshop (4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.). Cost for the workshop is $55 for a member and $60 for a non-member. Register here.

HOLIDAY TIE DYE AND TINSEL

HOLIDAY CUPCAKE WORKSHOPS

Thursday, December 8, 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. or 3:45 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Your child (5 years old and up) will be helped as they make four holiday-themed cupcakes, then will have the chance to make one of their own. Every cupcake they make will be brought home in a pretty bakery box to be enjoyed with the rest of the family.

The step-by-step instructions can be used by your child to recreate the treats at home. (Note: Allergens such as nuts, eggs, dairy, and gluten will be used in each class.)

The first workshop is from 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., with the second scheduled from 3:45 p.m. to 5 p.m. Cost is $55 for members and $60 for non-members. Register here.

HOLIDAY CUPCAKE WORKSHOPS

HOLIDAY CONCERT FEATURING ACABELLA

Friday, December 9, 6:30 p.m.

Enjoy a classic holiday concert featuring Acabella, a female singing group of 14 women from Fairfield County. The group performs unaccompanied by musical instruments (other than their voices!) and is directed by Heather Raker and Carolyn Woodberry.

Acabella will sign such classics as Carol of the Bells, Twelve Days of Christmas, Deck the Halls, Silent Night, and many other favorites. Tickets are $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Purchase tickets here.
