New Canaan has set another record month in Real Estate!
According to recent data released by the New Canaan Board of Realtors, New Canaan has seen a greater than five times increase in the number of single family homes sold in the town compared to this month last year.
New Canaan is continuing its hot streak.
The increase, from four in February 2020, to 22 in February 2021, represents a 450% increase in homes sold, and also sees 7 sales made in the $2 million to $5 million range.
“February was another fantastic month for single family home sales on the New Canaan Multiple Listing Service,” said Melissa Rwambuya, President of the New Canaan Board of Realtors.
“Unit sales were up over 400% and the median sale price was up 13%, year over year.”
Because demand continues to outstrip the low inventory, this makes it a great time to list a home for sale. (Inventory is down 33% compared to where it was this time last year).
The median sales price of homes sold increased from $1,288,615 in 2020 to $1,461,000 in 2021.
