A homegrown son will be back in New Canaan next weekend to perform an outdoor spring concert at the First Presbyterian Church.
Pianist Andrew Armstrong and three other musicians will perform a series of classical selections from Beethoven, Antonín Dvorák, William Grant Still, Amy Beach, and Rebecca Clarke on Saturday, May 22nd beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Also scheduled to perform with Armstrong is violinist Jennifer Frautschi, violist Gabriela Diaz, and cellist Edward Arron. This will be Armstrong’s third performance in New Canaan since becoming a professional musician. He previously performed in October 2020 and did a virtual holiday performance in December 2020.
As the founding Artistic Director of New Canaan Chamber Music, it’s been a goal of Armstrong’s to bring a series of chamber music concerts to the community.
Tickets for the concert are $50 and can be purchased here. Children under age 16 are free. Remember to bring a lawn chair for everyone in your party.
If rain forces the cancellation of Saturday’s event, the performance will be moved to Sunday, May 23rd at 4 p.m. The First Presbyterian Church is located at 178 Oenoke Ridge.
